Like 2 months to be exact. I’ve been busy applying to jobs, updating websites and breathing fresh oxygen. To kick off my blogging…again…I wanted to share something I was forced to try.

Clear nail polish. On mosquito bites.

The idea somehow stumbled into my RSS feeds but I found it today in a 2006 Lifehacker post.

As the summer starts winding down, I’m sure a bunch of you have bug bites so I actually recommend this over the expensive anti-itch creams that you can get in the store.

Free Condoms Handed Out at World Cup

But these aren’t the regular glow in the dark type either.

The condoms being handed out are the “new” Rape Axe condoms which are worn by the woman. Inside of these condoms are jagged teeth that grab hold of the rapist’s penis and apparently hold tighter if they attempt to remove it themselves.

Some of the varied opinions I’ve heard/read so far:

“Won’t the rapist get so mad he will just kill her?”

“Some women are already using a homemade version of this – paper cup and razor blade.”

“It’s also a form of “enslavement,” said Victoria Kajja, a fellow for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the east African country of Uganda. “The fears surrounding the victim, the act of wearing the condom in anticipation of being assaulted all represent enslavement that no woman should be subjected to.” via CNN
